World AIDS Day 2024

A powerful evening honoring lives lost to HIV/AIDS and spotlighting health equity in the Black community.

On World AIDS Day 2024, AARTH brought together Seattle community leaders, healthcare professionals, and residents for a meaningful day of reflection, education, and action. Through powerful stories, performances, and open dialogue, we honored those impacted by HIV/AIDS while advancing the ongoing fight for Black health equity. Dr. Renee McCoy delivered an inspiring address, while local advocates shared practical strategies to reduce stigma and expand prevention, testing, and care. Special keynote remarks were given by Sheley Seacrest, President of the NAACP Conference serving Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.
